Drawing and application packages can be produced for Bespoke new house designs, home extensions, loft conversions, Structural alterations, re-furbishment and general conversion work.

Initially a meeting will be arranged to discuss your requirements, advice will be given on what consents you will need to obtain and the whole scheme discussed in detail giving further design advice and possible options that you may not have considered. This initial visit is free.

Following the initial meeting a no obligation fee quote will be sent to you, should you wish to proceed a further visit will be required to carry out a full measured and photographic survey to enable your plans to be drawn accurately. Sketches will then be produced for your comment and approval. Once the final design has been agreed the drawings will be submitted to the Planning Department. The Practice will deal with any queries or negotiations required with the Planning Officer.

House extensions historically have been an exercise in creating an extended living space whilst sometimes failing to blend nicely with the existing building. We have all seen those structures that are obviously trying to look part of the existing structure, but are obviously not blending successfully. Unless you intend to go down the super-contemporary route, the extension should really be in keeping with your existing property and at the same time be creating light and airy usable spaces.

To the other extreme, house extensions are also not a glass box stitched to the side of an old building. The inherent contrast being fashionable previously but planning permission for such structures is harder to obtain,.. and like anything else that is designed, has a habit of going out of fashion.

It is still ok to do something dramatic or contemporary but purity is the key. No longer do we use many different materials. Instead, simplifying the extension to your home to create something that, instead of being at odds with the existing structure, compliments it.

For example, white-rendered extensions work well on period properties or perhaps choose a design that is clad entirely in timber.

It is also becoming very common to note what materials are used from an environmental standpoint, even including environmental factors into the design. Ground source heat pumps or perhaps solar panels for example.

Building Regulations applications:

Building Regulations drawings can be produced and submitted for all development types, these will provide sufficient information and specification to meet the current Building Regulations, the paperwork will then be completed and the application submitted on your behalf, dealing with queries and negotiating with Building Control will also be included.
